C’est la 34 e participation de la ville à l’événement. Voici ce que les organisateurs ont d’ores et déjà annoncé. Et, la première aura lieu à Montpellier , ville qui n’avait plus vu passer les coureurs depuis deux ans. Une annonce saluée par le maire Michaël Delafosse : « Nous sommes honorés […] Le passage du Tour de France à Montpellier est bien plus qu’une simple étape : c’est une véritable fête du vélo, du sport, de la culture, un véritable moment de cohésion et de partage d’émotions fortes. » Ce qui est prévu pour l’étape du Tour de France 2027 à Montpellier Les 16 et 17 juillet prochains, à l’occasion du passage de la 114 e édition du Tour de France à Montpellier, le quartier Antigone sera au cœur des festivités. Cela commencera dès le vendredi avec l’arrivée du peloton, en provenance d’Aubenas, en Ardèche. Au total, ce sont 164 kilomètres qui attendent les coureurs à travers l’Ardèche, le Gard et enfin l’Hérault. Sur la dernière partie du parcours, la Grande Boucle devrait traverser les communes de Saint-Mathieu-de-Tréviers, de Jacou et de Castelnau-le-Lez, puis enfin, Montpellier. Selon les premiers éléments dévoilés par les organisateurs du Tour de France, ce parcours est plutôt favorable aux sprinteurs. Toutefois, le Mistral et la Tramontane pourraient bien compliquer les choses. Le lendemain, Montpellier sera ville-départ. Mais avant que le peloton ne démarre, la Mairie prévoit un défilé dans les rues de la ville. Le départ de la course sera ensuite donné officiellement à Juvignac. Les coureurs s’élanceront alors vers Mende, en Lozère, en repassant notamment par le Gard.
